FISHING SEASON IS HERE AND WE"VE GOT LIVE BAIT!
"LOCALLY BREWED IN SMALL BATCHES"
NOTE: Compost is currently only available screened (to 1/4") in bags and in bulk (limited quantity of bulk compost available).
After a brief lapse in inventory, our popular compost is back!! Thats right! We've teamed up with Native Roots and have been working hard to produce a rich, dark compost from spent grains collected from local breweries and clean construction wood waste. Carefully managed, turned and monitored, this stuff heats up to well over 131°F for several weeks to kill weed seeds and pathogens. It's made entirely from locally-sourced organic waste products and guaranteed to be manure-free and rich in organic matter and nutrients. Our compost is NOW available for purchase at screened or unscreened, in bulk or bagged, or even blended with high quality topsoil and worm castings (blends coming soon!). Come by and check it out anytime. and a are now posted!
Now is a great time to add worm castings to your garden and house plants. You can top-dress (add a thin layer of castings to the top of the soil around each plant), use for mid-season transplants or add to your potting mix to add organic nutrients, restore beneficial soil microbes and improve soil tilth and water-holding capacity (see our for more info). All our bag sizes are on sale for 20% OFF so whether you're trying them out for the first time or a die-hard believer, come and get 'em! We've also got composting and garden worms available - all at our shop located inside the Native Roots Garden Center next to Home Depot.
Mid-Season SALE: Worm Castings 20% OFF - All Bag Sizes!!
The Durango Compost Company has been providing local solutions for organics waste recycling to the Durango and Four Corners region since its inception in 2008. Our mission is to divert compostable materials from the landfill while creating a valuable product for local gardeners, landscapers and farmers. We do this through on and off-site vermicomposting and thermophillic composting, with services offered to local businesses, restaurants, residents and schools. Started by Jennifer Craig and Tim Wheeler, as of September 2011 recently returned Durango native Sean Kearney has joined the Compost Company and now manages day-to-day operations (more info ).
